Ms. Carrie Phillips Sharp
Hello! My name is Carrie Sharp. This is my fifth year at
Brentwood Magnet Elementary School of Engineering. I have been in education for
13 years. I taught Pre-Kindergarten and worked for a non-profit organization
called the Partnership for Excellence as the Executive Assistant. My first two
years at Brentwood I worked as a Kindergarten Intervention Teacher. I loved
this position because it allowed me to help students who struggle, to close
gaps and to help them experience success in areas of weakness at school. I
returned to the classroom as a regular Kindergarten teacher. I recently received a Masters in
Education in Curriculum and Instruction in Elementary Reading at Grand
Canyon University to gain more knowledge in my content area to better serve the
students here at Brentwood. This year, I will be the K-2nd grade
Literacy Coach. I am very excited to work with the teachers and students here
at Brentwood.
I have two children, ages 9 and 12 who keep me on my tippy toes most of the time! I will have to confess that my favorite place to go to relax, is Atlantic Beach in North Carolina. I have been visiting AB since I was about 10 years old and now my children and I go together. We have a cat Finian, a kitten Sparkels, a dog Heidi, 3 dwarf frogs and 3 hermit crabs. Teaching has become my passion, but I can't do it without the support of my parents, families and the students.
